Young Leadership (YL) is a Division of UIA for young adults aged 18-35.
This Division transitions into the Young Families Division.
Keren Hayesod - UIA's YL Division cultivates young leaders in Jewish communities around the world, engaging young adults and enabling them to play an active role in responding to contemporary challenges in Jewish life. By enhancing the involvement of young adults with their Jewish heritage and their relationship with the State of Israel and Jewish people, the YL Division facilitates a collective international effort to ensure the security of the State of Israel and well-being of the Jewish people.
YL in NSW provides a forum for young adults to express their support for Israel through a series of fundraising events held usually in February/March each year. These events are the largest of their type in Australia for young Jewish people, and are a powerful demonstration of showing solidarity with Israel.
YL hosts an interactive monthly mentor session with a focus on mentoring, learning and connecting young professionals with successful leaders within the community.
NewGen UIA is a sub-division of YL for 18-25 year olds. We hold tailored events designed specifically for this age group.
Funds raised by YL NSW are sent to Israel and become part of the general fund, with specific support of 2 programs which KH-UIA have deemed as 'High Need' - Youth Futures and Ayalim.
Youth Futures – a one-on-one mentoring program for children and Youth at Risk based primarily in the periphery, that helps them build self esteem, set goals for a brighter future and bring them back from risk to opportunity.
Ayalim – a program for the new generation of Zionists who live within and serve as agents of change in distressed areas. These idealistic students bring about change to underprivileged neighbourhoods through their care, support and development.
